Extracted comments from the 10K Race Adjudication report: Quote: 'Course was well marshalled, Marshals were polite and helpful' 'This is a well organised and well delivered event' ... unquote
My grateful thanks to ALL Marshals and in particular, Helen, who is retiring as Chief Marshal. Hopefully Helen will continue to help with art work and graphics (T shirt design and entry form layout, not easy tasks)

Would anyone be interested in meeting up for a regular Saturday morning endurance session on the bikes? The aim is during the winter months to build endurance on the bike riding at level 2 for 50 miles. The pace for a reasonably fit rider should be around 17+ mph (dependant on weather and terrain). The route to start will be flat (well as flat as it can be for Lancashire) starting at the Bulls Head Wilpshire 9.30am down to Ribchester/Longridge then on the Inglewhite Road to Garstang/Winmarleigh/Scorton/Barnacre then back onto the Inglewhite road retracing route back to Wilpshire. The ride should take approximately 3 hours riding nonstop (carry an energy drink and gel to keep fuelled throughout the ride). Rides like these are great for your endurance if you’re thinking about or already competing in duathlons/triathlons. The sessions can be developed to include sections of faster paced “through and off “or hill work coming back over the Trough in the New Year. It’s also a great way to develop you group riding skills and working in groups is great for motivation during those cold grey days.
Please note the idea is to ride at a consistent pace it’s not an eyeballs out session, we are not trying to ride each other’s legs off.....that comes later ha ha
If anyone is interested please drop me an email: email@example.com or leave me a message on facebook

Just a reminder – Wilsons Athletics Track is available to us every Thursday, 5:30pm to 6:30pm. We have a number of runners of all abilities currently using this facility for track sessions. Everyone is welcome! Speedwork doesn’t just make you run faster, it makes you more comfortable at all speeds and increases your fitness. Remember to ‘sign in’ & pay £2 to Hyndburn Athletics in the office next to the changing rooms.

Just a reminder to all our runners regarding the rule on club vests.(message will expire on Sat 31/Dec/2016)
When competing in any race or event as an attached member of Accrington Road Runners; it is expected you wear (and display) a club vest.
This is particularly important when representing the club in team events and in our club races.
The club vest helps advertise and promote the club gives us a presence in races.
